Why train with me?

Because I’ll meet you where you’re at. Both literally (yes, I do in-home sessions!) and figuratively. If you’re just starting your fitness journey, I’ll be there to cheer you on and help you build confidence both in and out of the gym. If you’re coming back to movement after a break, I can design a program that’s challenging but sustainable. Want to switch up your current fitness practice? We can work together to design something one-of-a-kind.

Let’s do something cool together.

Fitness doesn’t have to mean hours spent trudging on a treadmill or endless bicep curls (unless that’s your jam, in which case, you do you babe!). In fact, the fun of personal training comes from discovering your favorite ways to move. Whether you live for a high-intensity sweat session, want to learn to lift heavy, or need to get stronger/more flexible/fitter to live your best life, I’ll help you cultivate the tools and techniques you need to thrive.

What to expect when you train with Resilient AF

Making decisions around our health and wellness can leave us feeling vulnerable. If working with a personal trainer feels daunting, let me take some of the uncertainty out of the equation. Still have questions about what to expect? Get in touch and we can figure it out.

30 Minute Discovery Call
Before we jump into the nitty gritty of program design and your first session, I want to make sure we’re going to jive. During this initial meeting we’ll discuss your goals, fitness experiences, and make sure our values (and schedules) line up.
Welcome Packet & Scheduling
If we decide to work together after the Discovery Call, I’ll send over a welcome packet and an invitation to purchase and schedule your sessions! This welcome packet includes a more in-depth intake questionnaire so I have the background and details I need to start building your program.
Session Zero
As a D&D nerd and Dungeon Master, I like to think of our first meet-up as “session zero.” This is where we’ll set expectations and work through some functional assessments. These assessments include basic movement patterns like squatting, hip hinges, pushing, and pulling. They’ll help me  establish a baseline for your movement patterns, mobility, and holistic fitness. You can think of this session as the foundation we’ll build on when the training program begins.
First Training Session!
This is where the rubber meets the road and our planning comes together! I’ll bring the training plan and any equipment we’ve discussed, you bring your focus and curiosity.

Sliding Scale Pricing Policy

I believe that fitness services should be accessible to everyone. I also recognize that we all come from diverse backgrounds and intersections of identity, which can impact the resources we have available to invest in fitness. All personal training and group training is provided on a sliding scale. I ask clients to choose a point on that scale that feels doable and meaningful to them, knowing that the people who can pay the highest points help me support those who pay closer to the bottom of the scale.

You can use this guide to help situate yourself on the sliding scale!

Pricing FAQ

How does the sliding scale work?

With sliding scale pricing, you select the cost you pay according to what you understand about your financial situation. I’m honored to serve a community that comes from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and intersections of identity. Sliding scale pricing lets me sustainably do what I love, with and for the people who value my services.

What if I can't pay the true value for a session?

That’s what a scale is meant to account for! It’s ok to not have resources, just like it’s ok to have them. For this work to be sustainable for me, on average I need most people to self-select in the true value range. But! I do this work knowing that people who pay the highest points help support my work with folks who pay on the lower end of the sliding scale.

How do you determine the true value of a session?

I mean, to me each session is priceless 😘 But technically speaking, in addition to our actual hour training together the true cost of a session covers:

  • Session prep and workout programing
  • Equipment maintenance and purchases for more versatile training sessions
  • Studio rental fees and/or travel costs
  • Professional development (AKA workshops and certifications)
  • Time spent behind the scenes keeping things running; y’all, there are soooo many emails to read

Do you charge more for in-home vs. in-studio training sessions?

Nope! My 1:1 training prices are the same across the board. Accessibility is a huge concern for many of my clients and I’d hate for lack of transportation to keep you from pursuing your movement goals.

That said, gas is expensive and auto maintenance is a significant business cost for me! If I train with you in-home and you have the financial means, please consider paying slightly higher on the sliding scale to help cover travel costs.

How do you decide how much a client can afford?

I don’t! That’s entirely up to you. You know your financial reality better than anyone else. Period. I just ask every person I work with to honestly assess their current financial situation and choose a point that feels doable and meaningful.

HELP! I don't know how much I can afford 😅

Don’t worry! You can use this guide to help situate yourself on the sliding scale.
